Recently , I had the opportunity to connect and network with a brilliant woman named Vihil H. Vigil. Not only is she the CEO and Editor in Chief of Magistra Magazine , but she is also a force to be reckoned with.
The Magistra Mission is to honor Women Founders, Entrepreneurs, Designers, Artists, Businesswomen, & Women Professionals by highlighting our successes, telling our stories and encouraging other women to reach for their dreams & make them reality!
The Movement strives for global progress as women continue to take lead on developing businesses across industries. Magistra International is committed to spotlighting and celebrating women on a global scale. To encourage more women to continue the wave of progress we will ensure the momentum stays alive. By empowering our Sisters through Collective Collaboration & by supporting their goals with planning assistance, vocal and virtual support, business development assistance, and global campaign development we all rise.
Being given a Featured Leader Story in this wonderful and multifaceted magazine allowed me to share my story with an International audience.
Being a muslim woman - one that wears niqab(face veil) , I also see this as an accomplishment and a minor step towards normalizing seeing niqabi women in leadership roles on an international platform - as many before has done and continue to do.
I grew up in southern Trinidad with many dreams and aspirations. I started working towards those goals at the tender age of 7 as I was determined to make a positive difference in my field of choice. Being diagnosed with epilepsy at age 12 as well as many other health challenges along the way did not stop me ; they were mere speedbumps in the road on my way to victory. Speedbumps that made me stronger and more resilient than before. I wake up everyday remembering the many days I spent in icu , the week I spent without vision and the week I spent being paralyzed - all of which fuel me to begin my day with gratitude towards God and the goal of making a difference one step at a time.
I have built Excellence Tutoring Services & Excellence Designs and Advertising from the ground with nothing but prayer , hard work , support from family & friends and dedication. It is truly an amazing feeling to see it being featured in the Magistra Magazine.
As the article so wonderfully mentions - we do have much things in store for both organizations and while we are still completing the finishing touches , I urge you to continue to look out for us as we have great things planned.
